Zac Hilton’s snooker success

November 4, 2022

Zac Hilton – Year 9, has been playing snooker since age 11 and has recently racked up a number of significant wins in the sport. Currently the NSW U21 Junior Champion, Zac is now headed to the Australian Titles next year and has his eyes set on the World Titles shortly after. After starting out playing against his dad, he quickly moved into club tournaments and was fortunate enough to have a table at home to practise on during lockdowns while all the public snooker tables were closed.

Zac says that while he enjoys making the big breaks, it’s the strategic side of the game that keeps him interested. Requiring a tactical approach similar to chess, snooker is as much a test of brain power as it is fine motor skills.

Zac has also recently been involved and fundraising for SCARF, a charity that he became involved with as a result of a class assignment interviewing refugees, he used his savings to buy sporting equipment to donate as prizes for the recent SCARF Trivia night.

We look forward to seeing what exciting results next year holds for Zac in the Australian Titles.
