A Happy Return

March 24, 2022

In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, one of our international students Kaichuan Yu faced a very difficult choice. He had returned to China to visit his family during the summer holidays of 2019, when it came time to return to Australia and his studies, Kaichuan was locked out of the country when COVID restrictions prevented international travel.

Kaichuan chose to continue studying at TIGS regardless, and for the remaining three terms he completed the HSC remotely from his home in China. Despite these challenges, Kaichuan achieved the highest HSC ATAR in his graduating class, and has recently returned to Australia where he is pursuing his dreams and has enrolled in UNSW studying a Bachelor of Actuarial Studies.

Kaichuan was able to visit the School this week and see for the first time his place on our TIGS Scholars Wall.
