A gathering of ‘all things on wheels’

August 26, 2022
Principal - Mrs Judi Nealy

A chilly but sunny day was the setting last Saturday for a gathering of motor enthusiasts at TIGS. It was amazing to not only to see the collection of unique and spectacular vehicles that were brought in by members of our community, but also to hear more about the treasures hiding in garages all over the Illawarra! I suspect that next year many more vehicles will be on the Senior oval for viewing.

The UOW Motorsport Racing Team were on site with one of their cars to explain their project and speak to parents and students about the opportunities in engineering available at UOW. It was fantastic to see Connor Harvey (class of 2020) in this group. I was very pleased to see several TIGS students taking advantage of the expertise and wisdom available on the day as they planned out a possible career incorporating their love of cars and engineering.

Thank you to the group of parents and staff who dreamt up this community gathering event and brought it to life. It was a wonderful success and point of connection for a diverse group of parents across our School but with a common interest in all things on wheels.
