The Illawarra Grammar community are proud of Claire Spicknall (Year 12), who raced in the World Junior Triathlon Championships in October.

Claire put a great race together, and finished in 29th place in a field of over 50 competitors from all around the world. This is a remarkable achievement considering that she completed her HSC English Paper 2 that same morning!

After the race, Claire expressed her sincere gratitude to everyone who came out to support her. She said that it was so encouraging to hear her name being cheered at different points across the course and that it felt like there was a wave of people cheering “Go Claire! Go Claire!” as she raced.
