Year 12 Fundraising for Coomaditchie United Aboriginal Corporation

May 6, 2022
Year 12 Captains - Katelyn Spicknall, Harrison Ledger, Annika Enbom, Liam Harvey

We are delighted to announce that the Year 12 Fundraiser for 2022 is the Coomaditchie United Aboriginal Corporation. Located in Port Kembla, Coomaditchie works to raise cultural awareness and assist disadvantaged First Nations youth through art and academic programs.

The organisation also works to restore the local area through clean-up initiatives and nature conservation efforts, helping to create a greener Illawarra. TIGS students have been invited to assist the organisation in their various efforts, with opportunities to serve as tutors, helpers and participants in the conservation initiatives.

Throughout this year, Year 12 and the SRC have been raising funds for Coomaditchie by organising raffles, chocolate sales and Santa Photos. Upcoming events such as the annual TIGS Trivia Night will allow us to raise further funds, which will assist with Coomaditchie to expand their initiatives.

Through our partnership with Coomaditchie, we hope to create a lasting and meaningful relationship between TIGS and the local First Nations community. We are extremely excited to watch this relationship grow and hope to see it continue after our time as Captains.
