Tuesday 20 September – Senior School Great Race

With road closures in place from 8.00am, it has been suggested that staff leave additional time to arrive at School to connect with School transport to Jamberoo Action Park. Parents who live South of Wollongong may transport their Senior School child/ren directly to Jamberoo where roll call will be taken and absences recorded. All Senior School students will return to School at the conclusion of the day and normal transport arrangements will apply. Parents who need to make alternate arrangements, will need to follow the normal process by emailing [email protected] no later than midday, Tuesday. Staff are directed not to make arrangements with parents outside of the normal process.

The Year 12 Graduation Assembly will commence at 9.00am in the IGC. Parking will be available on the Oval for guests of Year 12. Specific details

Attached is a residents’ guide to the overall road changes occurring over the week. The road closures are comprehensively covered on the following website and we would strongly encourage staff and families to use this for guidance relating to the event.

Students who use TIGS Private Bus Service

TIGS bus fleet will still be fully operational over the week of the UCI competition. 90% of services will be unaffected, except by general traffic congestion in the Illawarra area.

Families who reside in the areas affected by the road closures have all been contacted directly by our Transport Manager, Andrew Rutty. There have been amendments made to pick up and drop off locations, times and re-routing of the service to avoid any closures. This has occurred on an individual basis. Parents are encouraged to contact Matt Field on 0438 513 242 if they have any concerns regarding transport via TIGS bus service.

Students who use public transport – Premier Buses

During the event week, all existing services to TIGS will still be operational with some routes travelling on an alternate path in the morning and afternoon. This means that some bus stops used by students will be closed and students may need to access a different bus stop or service to access the campus.

Premier Buses have released an interactive web-based interface that allows each school to identify and look at the changes to the affected services. Currently there are only four services that are affected in the race week – two morning services and two afternoon services. For families who use the Premier service, please log in below to view the minor changes to times and routes.
