ArtsFest 2023

March 31, 2023
Mr Brody Toombs - Head of The Arts

This week the School celebrated our annual ArtsFest competition. The theme this year was ‘Superstars’ which very much underscored the atmosphere created throughout the day. Each House put their best foot forward and produced some truly outstanding performances and ‘Superstar’ moments.

For the first time in three years, we were able to return to a full programme of events. The headline of these events was the House Song, where every student in each House performed as part of a House choir. Bringing this event back to ArtsFest stitched the strong support and team effort into the fabric of the day. For each performance, whether there were three or thirty people on stage, the hearts of every student in the IGC were right there with them. There was not one performance that finished without awe-inspiring, earth-shaking cheering. To have this level of support for every performance truly reinforced the wonderful community spirit we all share at TIGS.

Days such as these are not possible without the strong supportive network of our School community. There are many hours of work that go into making events such as these possible. This comes not only from the students but a large team of staff that support these students. Special thanks must go to our Head of House, Year 12 Mentor Teachers, Arts Staff and Event Support Staff who have each had a significant part in ensuring the events ran smoothly and successfully.

To catch some of the highlights from the ArtsFest competition, please come along to our ArtsFest Showcase on Friday 31 March at 5.30pm in the IGC. It promises to be an outstanding night showcasing the wonderful talent and community we have at TIGS.
