Specialist Programmes

We use music as a language of expressive capacity and potential. Our specialist music programme aims to provide the foundation for your child’s musicality through movement, music and storytelling. By playing with voice, beat, melody and rhythm your student will develop their musical literacy and develop confidence during group participation.

Our movement programme is designed to enhance physical and social development including coordination and communication. The programme taps into the cornerstones of a healthy childhood by focussing on a stable foundation consisting of active movement, play and social interaction.
Indoor activities are guided by licensed professionals within an inclusive and dynamic environment to ensure that your child learns at his or her own pace. Children participating in the programme display improved self-confidence, increased physical skills of balance, coordination and social awareness.

It’s never too early for your child to engage with the world through the lens of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Research shows the earlier we guide and support your child’s wonder about the world – and identify opportunities for your child to acquire foundational STEM skills – the more successful they will be in all areas of learning later on. We have a STEM specialist who plans experiences and learning opportunities with a STEM focus. We are 1 of 100 Preschools in all of Australia to be part of the Australian Governments ELSA STEM pilot programme, which is a play-based digital learning programme. ELSA allows children to play, experiment and make sense of the world around them – which celebrates both science and also the discovery of being a child. ELSA’s STEM practices encourage children to ask questions, make predictions, experiment, and reflect on what happened and why.

We believe immersion and participation in the Arts connects your child to culture, history and ideas and can help children further articulate and express their understanding of their place within the world. Our lessons aim to provide your child with a broad art programme that supports them as they steadily develop diverse skills in art making. Each term, we build on your child’s previous learning and introduce more advanced activities to develop their skills and knowledge. Technology supports the curriculum and we provide opportunities for students to explore, create and reflect on their learning using a variety of tools and methods.

Your child puts global education into practice by learning a Language Other Than English (LOTE). Expanding your child’s mind to other languages and cultures at Prep age lays the foundation for the study of languages in the future and fosters an appreciation of the role of language and of other cultures. It is through play that our Prep students learn the foundations of communicating in French through greetings, games and the interactions of general classroom language, family, colours, numbers, days of the week, favourite pastimes, songs and stories, the seasons, nature, food and places.
