Enrolment Process
Step 1: Application for Enrolment
Applicants are required to submit an Application for Enrolment via our online form. Please note: Submission of an Application for Enrolment Form does not guarantee enrolment to the School but does place the student’s name and details on our Enrolment Register. On completion of Step 1, an email will be sent to your nominated email address containing a URL to continue the application at your convenience.
Step 2: Enrolment Interview
Before a place is offered, we will invite you and your child to attend an enrolment interview. Preparatory Interviews include a visit to TIGS Prep. The interview is an opportunity to discuss the School’s programmes and to allow parents and students to raise any questions. Please note: Not all students who are interviewed will be offered a place at the School.
Step 3: Offer of Placement
Subject to the outcome of the interview and availability of placements, a letter offering a placement will be provided to the parents/guardians.
Step 4: Accepting/Declining the Placement
To accept your child’s placement at the School, you will be required to sign and return the Acceptance of Offer together with the non-refundable Enrolment Fee of $2000.00 within 21 days (or as stated in the letter of offer). Enrolment Fee: is a non-refundable fee which is required to be paid to demonstrate the firm intention of parent/guardians to take up a place held for their child for commencement on a nominated date. It is security held for the enrolled child, as the School has to incur expenditure for both physical and human resources in preparation for the new school year. To decline your child’s placement at the School, a written letter declining the position is required within 21 days or earlier.
Step 5: Receipt of Acceptance and Commencement
Upon receipt of the signed Acceptance of Offer and payment of the Enrolment Fee, your child will be deemed enrolled.
Step 6: Welcome to The Illawarra Grammar School
At the appropriate time, during the term prior to commencement, parents will be notified of commencement dates, orientation days and any other pertinent information and details which will assist your child’s transition into The Illawarra Grammar School. Please note: It is important to ensure that you assist us by advising the School of any changes in your address or other contact details, as your child may be removed from the Register of Enrolments if mail is returned without any new address details being provided.
