A Day at TIGS Prep

Arrival time

Families can decide on arrival and departure times which best suit their needs within the operating hours of 7.30am – 5.30pm.  All children are expected to attend during the core learning hours of 9.30am – 3.00pm. On arrival children can engage in various learning experiences set-up by educators in our indoor or outdoor learning environments. This learning and discovery time allows parents to settle their children and engage with educators.

Structured learning

Each day, there is allocated time spent across key learning areas including language and literacy, creative and expressive arts, mathematics, science and social and emotional development. Our educators respond to the interests and learning styles of each student as they investigate, create and solve problems in the rich and stimulating learning environment.

lunch

Each child brings a healthy morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea which may be enjoyed indoors or outdoors on different days of the week. Lunch can also be ordered from the School Canteen using our online ordering system. Lunch orders will be delivered to the classroom.

Nap Time

Children in our Pre-Prep programme have a rest or quiet time each day. They bring their own sheet, pillow and small blanket and enjoy the opportunity to recharge with dimmed lights and quiet background music.

Outdoor PLAY

There are two outdoor play spaces filled with activities designed to encourage children to play, explore and use their imagination. Children form important social connections and build confidence as they undertake activities such as exploring the cubby house together, jumping aboard the boat or riding around the bike track on a tricycle.

Departure

Children can be picked up by an authorised adult any time up until 5.30pm. Our educators are available to discuss your child’s adventures and achievements of the day. Updates are also provided throughout the day on a secure digital communication tool. At the end of each week, a communication folder is sent home with notes, information and artworks.
