Mr Roger Summerill OAM

Roger joined School Council in 1998 and was elected Chairman in 2000. He has held senior roles in Media Management including as General Manager of 2ST, Nowra and Southern Highlands, WAVE FM and Power FM as well as Manager of NSW Local Radio for the ABC. He has a long history of serving the local community including Regional Development Australia Illawarra where he was the Deputy Chair; Chair of the South Coast Regional Tourism Organisation and the Shoalhaven Tourism Board; President of the Illawarra Connection; Membership of Faculty Advisory Boards at the University of Wollongong Australia as well as other Regional and Local Boards and committees.

Roger is actively involved in the Anglican Church both in his local Parish of Shellharbour and as a Member of the Board of Anglican Media Sydney.

He has a passion for Education and especially for TIGS and its role in developing the very best out of our students so that they in turn might better serve the world in which they live.

Roger was awarded an Order of Australia Medal in 1999 for his services to NSW Regional Tourism and to the Shoalhaven Region.

Roger is an active member of the School community at TIGS and three of his granddaughters have attended the School.
