About the role

Role Commences: Term I 2023

The Director of Academic Excellence is a new executive leadership role within our School. Reporting to the Deputy Head of Senior School you will have three primary areas of focus — strategic leadership, instructional leadership and operational leadership. 

Your work will inform and implement innovative approaches to teaching and learning. Your insights will help develop our long term planning, and your deep expertise in education will enable you to build and lead high performing teams that holistically deliver our students ‘the strongest start in life’.

This role requires you to connect the three pillars of our mission statement – Academic, Christian and Caring – using them to create an exceptional and empowering educational experience for our students.

  • Demonstrated experience using processes, systems and procedures to deliver high quality educational experience and outcomes.
  • A proven Head of Department with a track record of student success.

How to apply

1. Complete TIGS Job Application Cover Sheet

2. Prepare cover letter and resume

If applicable, the cover letter should address the selection criteria and your resume will contain a brief description of your employment history, along with an outline of achievements, education background, and qualifications obtained.

3. Provide three referees

Referees nominated should be readily accessible and advised by the applicant so they may be contacted by the School. Two should be known to the applicant professionally and it is preferred that one be from a Minister of Religion.

4. For academic positions, provide proof of academic qualifications

  1. A copy of all academic transcripts/qualifications is required with your application. Qualifications gained outside of Australia must be recognised by the NSW Educations Standards Authority (NESA), or equivalent authority.
  2. Philosophical and pedagogical statement. This document will outline your stance in relation to the position, allowing the demonstration of alignment between your own world view and the School’s Statement of Mission and Values.
  3. Up-to-date statements of service.
  4. Evidence of accreditation with the NSW Institute of Teachers (for those qualified after October 2004).
  5. Proof of accreditation (an accreditation card, a letter from the NSW Institute of Teachers) or proof of employment as a teacher in NSW within the last five years.
