TIGS Junior School is a vibrant, caring community where students learn, laugh, play and explore the world around them. It's a welcoming, Christian environment where friendships can flourish and personalities develop. Our pastoral care program helps each student develop confidence, feel part of their class group and their school, and grow into happy, enthusiastic learners.
In the Junior School, we treat Literacy and Numeracy as high priority learning areas, knowing that the skills and concepts developed in the classroom underpin learning across the whole curriculum.
We encourage students to jump into the exciting realm of imagination through learning options such as Creative and Performing Arts, offering individual tuition in a wide range of instruments and providing many opportunities for students to perform at TIGS functions and in the broader community.
To keep our young students active, we also offer a range of specialist programes; Physical Education and Swimming, Science and Technology, Human Society and Its Environment, Language Study - Japanese, Library Lessons and Religious Education.
When any challenging issues arise, our Counsellors are there to work with students to help them manage the situation and ensure their well-being. We also provide a team of experienced Special Education staff to help students with their individual learning needs, whether it is for extra support or extension.
TIGS works in close partnership with our parents to give every student the care and attention they need to develop self-esteem and confidence - the building blocks for school success.
