Senior School

At TIGS your child will be encouraged to discover and develop their academic gifts to their full potential. While academic standards across the School are high, we offer a broad and diverse range of subjects to cater for the different needs and interests of your child throughout their years of schooling.

Statewide test results report that our students are significantly outperforming the Statewide averages.

In the School Certificate external examinations, four to five times more of our Year 10 students are placed in the top Band (Band 6) for each subject in comparison to the rest of the State.

TIGS results at the Higher School Certificate are most impressive. Nearly 30% of our Year 12 students receive a Universities Admissions Index (UAI) of 90 or higher, placing them in the top 10% of Year 12 students in the State.

Over 50% of our Year 12 students receive a UAI of 80 or higher, placing over half of our Year 12 students in the top 20% of all Year 12 students in NSW. Most of TIGS Year 12 students go on to study at university with the majority gaining entry to their first choice university degree.

Each year the NSW Board of Studies acknowledges those Year 12 students who achieved a mark of 90 or more in individual Higher School Certificate courses in the Distinguished Achievers List published in the media. The number of TIGS students achieving 90+ and a mention in the Distinguished Achievers List ranks TIGS as the best performing non-selective school in The Illawarra and South Coast Region and in the top 10% of all schools in New South Wales.
